Internet is a decentralized collection of interconnected communication networks using family TCP / IP, ensuring that the physical networks that comprise heterogeneous function as a single logical network, worldwide. Its origins date back to 1969, when it established the first connection of computers, known as ARPANET, between three universities in California and one in Utah, United States.
One of the most successful services on the Internet has been the World Wide Web (WWW or "the Web"), to the extent that it is common confusion between the two terms. The WWW is a set of protocols that allows, in a simple, remote inquiry hypertext files. This was a later development (1990) and uses Internet as the transmission medium
Its origins date back to the 1960s, within ARPA (now DARPA), in response to the need for this organization to seek better ways to use the computers at the time, but faced with the problem that the leading researchers and laboratories wanted have their own computers, which was not only more expensive, but it caused a duplication and resources.8 ARPANet Goldwyn (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network or Agency Network Advanced Research Projects U.S.) bequeathed to us the layout of an initial network of high-speed communications which were integrating other governmental and academic networks for years 70.9 October 11
Researchers, scientists, teachers and students benefited from communication with other institutions and colleagues in their field as well as the possibility of consulting the information available in other academic and research centers. Similarly, enjoyed the new ability to publish and make available to others the information generated in their activities.12 13
In the month of July 1961 Leonard Kleinrock at MIT published the first paper on packet switching theory. Lawrence Kleinrock convinced Roberts of the theoretical feasibility of communications using packets rather than circuits, which proved to be a breakthrough in the path towards computer networking. The other key step was to make the computers talk to each other. To explore this, in 1965, Roberts TX2 connected a Massachusetts computer with a Q-32 in California via a switched telephone line low speed, thus creating the first (however small) computer network ever built wide area
personal opinion:
In my view, the Internet is an important resource for mankind, since we can find information that I know can be found in books or accelerate the process. This makes the most of the time we are in a computer either chatiando, listening music, playing games, etc., but nowadays the internet has many improvements and is faster find what you need.
so I think that the internet has what unonecesita and can have their investigations easier and fast, without the internet mankind could not do what he does today and is vital to sustaining a career or studies.
